Right, got myself in a right mess.
Got to pay an extra £250 on mortgage, £120 council tax and loan payment of £145 all on wednesday, none of it can not be paid.
Can't borrow any from anyone.
What can I do?
Thought about taking my jewellery to pawn brokers but not sure how that works. Pretty sure the bank manager won't extend my overdraft as they hate me - won't ever do anything for me even if I have money.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

first of all I would pay the council tax because they are the only ones who have the legal powers to seize goods. then i would contact your mortgage and see if you can take a payment holiday some offer this ours did we could take 6 months which we did in two lots of three months it does add on later but if it help take off the pressure! after sorting all that out you night be able to make the loan payment if this is happening every month is there any bills you can re-arrange to a better date for wages0

Is your loan payment secured or unsecured?
If unsecured, why not make a token payment of £1.00?Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -
Thanks, but I have to make those payments.
Mortgage is about to go to court for repossession and if I make the extra amount then it will be a suspended order.
Loan I may be able to pay over a few weeks if I beg nicely.
Council tax I also have to pay as they are nasty and won't take poverty as an excuse not to pay.0 -
well then as 10past 6 suggested I think a token payment to loan would be best so you can concentrate on the more serious ones0
-
secured.
They are pretty reasonable, so will try to pay them over 4 weeks.
Does anyone know about pawn brokers or other short term loan providers?
I am about the reclaim the last of my credit card charges (£600)- although how long that will take is anyones guess.0 -
sorry don't know anything about pawn brokers not tried that myself yet! when you do sort out this mess cos you will cos folk on here will help you with ideas for making extra cash can you access ebay and mak some cash on their to put towards things0
-
Yes, got loads to put on ebay, but need the cash now unfortunately.
I'll sort it one way or another.0 -

Sell something large on a BIN with cash on collection to end by weds?
Sorry, dont know about pawnbrokers, could you google and see if there is any info on what happens? Or ring one and find out?
Ring council tax and ask to put it off, explain that you have a cashflow issue which will be resumed by xx date, maybe make a token payment of a tenner? I think your priority is to the mortgage, if you lose your home then you wont have a home to pay council tax on! Good luck, Im sure something will come along0 -
There will be plenty of cash shops in your vicinity who won't be able to scramble fast enough to loan you the cash under their cash-till-payday scheme.
This is only lending as a last resort and you must have ways of paying it off quickly or it can become a cash-sucking nightmare. Basically they'll probably be able to loan you up to £600 without a credit check. You write them a cheque/s for £100 each which they cash after 30 days. Each £100 cheque will cost you at least £15 (eg http://www.moneyshop.tv/). Therefore they will exchange £510 in cash imediately for £600 worth of cheques. It's about 500% APR or something so as I said, last resort territory and you must have a plan for when the £600 cheques are cashed in a month's time.Debt as at 12th July 2006 - £61,345
Debt free 21st Oct 2011.
