Store employees aren't the best place to find out about electronics in any store (even in most electronics stores, unfortunately). They're usually not experts on the products and can just tell you what the item description says on the box and whether or not they sell a lot of that item. Your best bet to find something good (and user-friendly) is to do research online beforehand. Checking reviews for specific cameras you are interested in at Amazon (both .co.uk and .com, as one site may have more reviews than the other on the same item), and using review sites helps. Just find a camera that looks good at Boots, and do a search to see what people are saying about it. Here's a digital camera review site: http://www.dpreview.com/.

That's my method anyhow, as I love electronics items and want them to do what I need and to be better than my last one. My new camera goal is to get a digital one that takes pics nearly as fast as my old manual slr did without having to get the expensive and bulky digital slr. I freakin' *hate* that my camera pauses a second or two before taking a pic after I push the button. Can't get a decent action shot. They already have some better ones now than my camera (which is about four years old), but my old one takes such great pics and mpegs that I can't justify getting a new one just yet. I'll wait a year or two for the tech to rise and the prices to fall even more.

Sorry about the long post, but cameras are a love of mine. :)

Morning skibster and all :) Don't apologise for the long post btw, because it made interesting reading, and shows that you're 'passion8' about electronics ;) It's just that I'm a bit of a technophobe, need a camera that 'aims and clicks' (can't think of an easier way to put it lol) but also need one that's a bit friendlier to people that wear specs too. I'm not sure if it's just me, but anything like cameras and binoculars, and that's me out of it :D

Thanks for the link too :)

Apparently the code works on orders over £25, had a mess around ( as you do!) and done an order for just over £28 getting just over 2300 points back. Including 2 EA items and this GWP

Wish I wasn't skint otherwise I would have placed an order ! Spent most of my money getting till spits!! Glad of the rubbish mag offers at least I can save a bit of money now!

    Morning Amelia's Mum :)

I love that gwp, especially the pink one! That online offer looks really tempting too, but might wait and see what's instore. I'm more into clearance shifting lol, but I might make an exception in that instance.

    Thanks for the picture x

Don't know if this has been pointed out (I'm catching up on a week's posts!):

You get more money/value for your Lightspeed points if you take them as paypal money, although that does mean that you have to have a paypal account!

Thanks IlonaRN - I didn't realise that. I've seen the paypal option but never thought to opt for paypal as a reward as I don't sell, only buy, so would it just go into the bank, or do people have to transfer it? (That shows my 'unintelligence' :o;) I need to look at the real reason for this site lol))

MRS T, I find it best to print all the offers when I see them as sometimes I find they may only be there for a day and have vanished when I come to print them off later for some reason.
I print off the vouchers even if I think I'm unlikely to use them, if something comes up in the clearance section at a good price then you already have your vouchers ready to use.

You only need to spend £5 to get the £5 skincare tillspit :D

I'd second what geordie_lass has said too Mrs T (why does that username make me break out in a cold sweat ... ;)) as it's not uncommon for offers to appear on the screen, and then disappear!;)

Then there's always the ones we think we'll never use, but sometimes the wizards on here will find a good reason for using it (if you see what I mean) and there's a mad scramble from everyone going through what vouchers they have lol.

Still trying to catch up but noticed this post h007.

Boots dot com has a habit of luring people in by offering huge points payouts, but it's like Fool's Gold sometimes. (Only know by experience ;)) It's much better to save your money in most cases, and spend it on the clearance items - like me :rotfl: ;)

I'm looking at Green Tea products and have never tried them. Can this stuff be returned if I don't like it?

Not sure if this has been answered skibster, (and don't know if it can be returned) but I've noticed in most of the larger stores' sales that the Green Tea products are usually included. I can't be certain obviously, but it doesn't seem to sell that well imo.

    Hi Passion8(and Skibster)

Cant read back on posts as have "so little time" today! Are you trying to buy a new camera? My DD is buying me a new one for my bday in June and I too need help. I want one that takes really good close ups(Ebay) as well as good normal ones. I have a fuji one but its close ups are blurred. I was thinking of a digital SLR. DD will spend £100-£150.
Any thoughts Skibster(or anyone else)? Pm if its better.
Back to Boots. Have I lost a bit of the bug or are the offers rubbish this now? Dont get excited at the thought of a little shop and could not be bothered to look last night when I was 2 doors from Boots. I have about 10 £5 till spits to use up and gave away about 8 of the £2 ones on the last day of previous offer. I have enough hair stuff , make up bags and Q10 to last a while and there are carriers full of makeup and GWPs unopened. I never recd a Spring mailing after getting them regularly for years (while not spending much in Boots), so I think we are poss penalised for spending and therefore dont need the extra help!
Maybe the new GWP will entice me. I would like the No7, mirror if it goes on offer again at £19.99 I will get it.

At least I am saving money!!!!

    Wee K
Money is only of any use if you can spend it!

If anyone's on the lookout for something yummy and inexpensive in the Mediterranean range to buy and use the Med soap voucher with, check out the Massage Body Butter from the Med pregnancy range. It smells delicious, kind of orangey and is only £4.99 compared to the other body butters in the range which are £7.50 for the same amount. If you have a PC voucher it's also BOGOF :j so 2 tubs of body butter and a soap for under a fiver, £5 tillspit too if you add a packet of chewing gum.

You'll find it in the Baby section with the lotions and creams. I'm hooked...

Boots must make a small fortune on chewing gum geordie_lass :rotfl:

Thanks for the recommendation - and the handy advice as to how to use the acm voucher :)
