Has anyone tried getting the Olay Total Effects Hand Treatment @ 6.49 with a 5.00 skincare voucher? does the till beep?

I am hoping to do this transaction tomorrow:D

    Total effects hand treatment 6.49
    olay wipes 4.49
    red magazine 3.30
    something for 21p

    Total=14.49

Use 5.00 skincare voucher, PC for free wipes and Red moc 2.30

    Total to pay= 2.70 + earn another skincare voucher:j

I was going to try one of the olay hand creams with the till spit today (think it was the £4.95 one) but it didn't have a red tag on the SEL so decided not to. Might give it a go tomorow:D

I wouldn't use out of date coupons hon - that link was for RED mag which expires 29th May

The MC one expired yesterday - eagerly awaiting a new one since I heard that you get a bottle of tigi free aswell as the bodyshop coco butter :j

I got 5 in Tesco yesterday but our smaller boots round here don't do magazines

Hi, I wasn't implying you used exprired vouchers, don't get me wrong. It's just that the June magzine of Red is already out and the voucher clearly states "against Red May issue".
I keep having this problem with MC: whenever I see the voucher online (around the end of the month) I go to my local WHSmith and they only have the new issue in the store, and I am too embarassed to try and use the coupon, even though the coupon is still valid.

    - all together, you use a till spit, pay £15.49, get £1.5 in points. Get another till spit

    - separately: Use 1 till spit. Pay £15.49 also. Get (8+5+2.49)*4% in points: 60p in points. Get 2 till spits.

In option 2 you forego 90p in points but get an extra till spit, lets say a TD hand cream. I would split the transactions.

Plus, if in the time delay starter kit transaction you add something else, you get another till spit.

Basically with the 10 point offer, they are giving us 10% back in points rather than 4%. But with a till spit you can get stuff for free, so this 6% difference is rarely worth it for small transactions.

    Hope this helps.

    thanks:D
I think I will split the transactions.

to those who got the free printer.. did you get any points as you didnt actually spend any money? thanks!
I'm not sure as i got something else too and can't work it out, don't think you do if using Boots own MOC only manufacturers MOC. Also voucher is £30 off but you only (:rotfl: ) get £25 off, What i mean is if you bought only the printer the till doesn't think it owes you £5 IYSWIM. Well I know what i'm talking about :p

Hi, I tried with one of the olay hand creams unsucessfully and reported it a few pages back. Not sure which one. I believe others have reported the same.

I also tried with the nivea dnage hand cream (reduced to £3 from 6), but was unsucessful.

If I remember correctly, last time this voucher was out, it was the same thing. The before last one, in september just said skincare and then the olay hand and body creams were included!! as well as the dnage hand creams.

As I wrote once here, I think this is Boots getting us to buy their products, since you can use a facial skincare voucher with a hand cream and body lotion... as long as it is Boots-manufactured as is the case of TD. And let's hope they keep it this way next time, since I can never have enough hand cream!! :D

Not sure if its been mentioned but TD smoothing body lotion has an SEL of £5 but goes through at £7. The £5 was honoured and SA said that the SEL was new in and head office have messed up. Just thought I would mention it :)

    Today I have purchased:

    Shop 1:
    2 x mini photo albums 75p
TD hand and nail cream - used £5 voucher that my bruv gave me.
    Points: 0 total 75p

    Shop 2:
Bought vitamins 3 for 2 and got 150 points back using vouchers.
Boots silky mitt reduced to 85p
Garnier nutrisse reduced to £1.25 and also used a 50p pigsback voucher.
    Used a £1 off £4 healthcare spend.
    Points: 266 Total: £5.08

    Shop 3:
    3 x colgate toothpaste 3 for 2 and used £1 off voucher
TD smoothing body lotion free with skincare voucher.
    Points: 4 Total £1.10

I am fairly new to this, its taken me weeks to finally get down there and I have done 5 shops in the last 2 days lol. I am sure my shops need some fine tuning, so I will keep watching this thread :)

Rubes? Next time you're in town, get me a mask will you please? (And not the Sanctuary type either lol).

I can hardly type for laughing, but I did a load of shopping today, because I knew we'd be at DD's over the weekend, but when I say loads, I mean loads of small transactions (and clearance raiding) :D

OH was with me, bless him (in KW Rubes - who, I should say, have the BEST STAFF IN THE UK - (they're so good that they're gonna get a mention in my sig, when I get round to sorting one out :D), and I was f*nnying around trying to get till spits (not realising that the 10points per £15 pound had kicked in already) but that's all by the by anyway.

(I'm still laughing - can't help it lol).

It was getting a bit hectic at the main till, so a lovely young SA asked if we'd like to go to the pharmacy to get served. So we did, and a lovely young man started to serve me, told me I was just short of the £15 mark and did I want to make it up. Did I? I'd have bought his tie for the £2 I was short of :rotfl:

But get this peeps - he knew my user name on here! And to make it worse, he said they ALL knew my user name :D and he told me what it was!

OH looked at me like I'd grown two heads (he doesn't know I use this stupid name lol, had to tell him that I couldn't fit passion8aboutbooks in! LOL).

The other young SA (the lovely one ;)) took one look at her mate, then looked at me as if to say: "passion8? What sort of a name is that for an overweight 50+ year old?" and, poor girl, she couldn't help herself, she turned away to laugh LOL. :rotfl:

(Still can't type for laughing btw) But how funny is that?

At least one member of staff (and according to him ALL of the shop's staff) know my real name, address, how many points I've got, what I buy, what I eat even! (meal deal day lol) and what a stupid user name I've got :o:D

The flaming alarm thing went off as we were leaving lol, so I did the usual, walked in again backwards ;), realised it wasn't my shopping, so OH went through, and set the alarm off. We were in and out like fiddlers' elbows, but just carried on out.

I was in stitches when I got outside - not because the alarm had gone off (and that we hadn't been stopped btw) but because if we had have nicked anything (which we hadn't anyway) they know exactly where to find me LOL. On here! Or here at home!

Anyway, I hope they've all stopped laughing now ('cos I haven't :D - bet they haven't either lol) and as promised - I said I'd give the SA a mention.

So. Hello Mr Young Pharmacy Man, you're the best SA ever :hello: ;)... I'm doing my shopping in York from now on! :rotfl:

Be back later with the shopping lists peeps, and whoever said Boots aren't watching are wrong. They're more than watching, they're making notes!

I'm off to try and live this down :o;) Cya later all x
