will a 60w get that hot?
It will get a lot more than "that hot" if the heat can't escape. (Hot air rises, unless there's a fan or natural ventilation to shift it sideways.) If the hot air can't escape, it will continue to get hotter until an equilibrium is reached where the excess heat is radiated. That could be well above the melting point of some plastics. Check your fire insurance.
