How much do I say I earn?

What seems to be important from reading other posts is to be consistent as there's anti-fraud/money-laundering databases that keep the details from other applications and they can compare applications - forget the name of it, but Yorkshire Boy'll remind me
One such system is 'Hunter', from MCL Software (an Experian company).0 -
Personally, I'd put in everything that you can substantiate from P60's (or P45's
), Self-Assessment returns (if it's good enough for the Revenue it's good enough for the banks), bank interest statements, divident vouchers or even good old bank statements.
Yes I would agree with this.
I'm self employed and cannot accurately predict my income for a particular year, so have to base it on previous years trading. I would add in anything that I can justify, and if this can be demonstrated from the previous three years then I have my response ready should they query it.
Having said that I've never had my income queried in 17 years of holding Credit Cards. I think if you are consistent in the figure that you put, then the alarm bells won't ring and you'll be ok.0 -

Bingo, that's the one. All I need now are this week's winning lottery numbers ...."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -
Personally, when I apply for credit cards if the form asks for income I put down every source of money I have coming in (salary+child benefit+tax credits+maintenance). That's surely not fraudulent?
If asked for salary then I'd obviously just put my earned wage which is unfortunately half of the former.
If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0
