advice on changing will

Options
Hi

I have a will that we wrote when ds was 18 months. we would now like to change the appointed guardians in the will from all 4 grandparents to my SIL who is local and has a young family too. I have been quoted £100+ to do this and wonder how necessary this is or whether we can change it ourselve and have it witnessed.

Cheers

Donna

Is it worth taking a chance, that if the unthinkable happened, that your wishes were not carried out, because the wording of your will(s) was not right? Have you been told by a solicitor that a codicils to your will(s) will cost £100+? You could shop around and get prices from different solicitors before you decide.

It might not be significantly more to re-write the wills from scratch rather than write a codicil to the will, and it definitely makes putting it into effect simpler!
