Looking at DD previous posts, he asks for advice a lot, one thing is certain next time he asks for advice the silence will be deafening. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0

Its not me that is being referred to. (apart from the bit in the third paragraph about not getting a straight answer from IFAs on the board before he understood why. That bit sounds like me). If you re-read DD's initial post, you will see he has edited it to make it clear he is not referring to the IFAs on the board.
It is a certain regular poster who is rather anti financial services, has strong opinions and tends to tell everyone to do the same thing regardless of their circumstances. Usually resulting in others, including myself, having to rebalance the thread to give a less biased response highlighting the pros and cons of various options not just the pros of one option.
All that said, some of the best threads for content have come from those discussions. Providing the individual reading has an open mind and can understand the balancing arguments for the different options being presented.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). This is a rather dangerous and antagonist discussion.
Let me make a few things clear
1. Posters are responsible for their own posts
2. This is an open forum as is prominently displayed on every page
3. The rules and terms and conditions are clear on this.
4. Giving what is legally defined as financial advice is not permitted on these forums.
5. This forum is not monitored. If you spot an abuse or inappropriate post please report it to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com . Never assume it'll be seen - over 25 paperback books worth of information are written on this forum every day. We operate a report system not a monitoring system.
6. Complaining about what's done on the forum isn't as productive as reporting it - if its in breach of the rules or terms.
Hope this clears things up
Kind regards
martin
