Yep got a HUGE marquee that will fit everyone in plus the mate who owns the woods has a couple of big shed thingies.... one with a wood burner/stove and bed and one with a toilet, so all should be well... i hope.
Jay-Jay.... You're welcome to pop your head in as long as you bring a crate of beer and a pumpkin

Only one toilet but it's a flushing one... Our mate put it in for his GF and we all took the !!!!!! (no pun intended). I've never been to the middle of the woods and seen a flushing dunnie, but hey perfect for what we need

What with all this 'toilet talk' I thought of another possible solution to having 100 folk queuing for one loo. Depending on how many guests you have you could look into hiring a couple of portaloos for the night.
ANYWAY!!!! Here's you talking about the most romantic day of your life and here's us talking about toilets
Keep the details coming and keep this thread going because it could inspire some really unusual MSE weddings.
Just run, run and keep on running!0 -

oh dear, it seemed perfectly normal to me that there would be a toilet in the middle of the woods....
Clearly it's not perfectly normal, I now realise this :rotfl: :rotfl: sorry!!!0 -

You could do the "legal" bit in the local registers office a few days before and then have the hand fasting in the woods.

CONGRATULATIONS!
My friend had a handfasting, midsummer, on a meadow next to a secret beach in cornwall. It was the first time i'd been to anything like that - and had no idea what to expect as I'm not really in those kinds circles. I have to say I was blown away! It was the most unique, memorable, beautiful wedding i have ever been to. It was very relaxed, not at all weird or overly hippy or with strange robes, etc. (as people have asked me!!!) and really special. It has totally inspired me to do something similar - just have to find the right bloke now!!!!
Your party in the woods sounds fantastic! I organised something similar for halloween last year (work unfortunately, not as exciting as a wedding!). We hung loads and loads of those snap lights (you get them from outdoor shops - little chemical tubes that activate when you snap them and mix the chemicals, they glow for hours!) in different colours (red, blue, green, yellow) from the branches. It looked really magical! We also got the kids to make loads of paper lanterns on sticks (the candles were in jam jars inside) and they carried them in a procession through the woods. It was great!
Woods in the dark always look fab with a bit of mystic lighting!!
Hope you have a wonderful day - and the rest of your life together!:j Don't just dream it - do it!0 -
Thankyou

Well its only 2 weekends away now and hopefully the weather will stay as it has been for the last couple of weeks. As we had to go for a registry office wedding, i have bought a real wedding dress (see my other post HERE) but the woods are shaping up to be a top party
We're hving a lovely meal at a restaurant in between the wedding and the party for the people who can't come to the woods.
What a result, the restaurant we've chosen didn't even charge us a booking fee! This really is turning out to be a proper MSE wedding lol"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye."...Miss piggy0 -
I'm reading this with interest as I'm hoping to get married this time next year and with me and my fiance both being slightly goth I think I might be going towards the halloween/goth theme. Although he doesn't know it yet
