I appreciate that the ideal scenario is not to utilise these numbers at all, but sometimes it is impossible or too time-consuming or inconvenient to circumvent.
Has anyone any idea which is currently the cheapest method/service of calling these numbers?
a) From a landline (I subscribe to all the usual suspects 18866 etc).
b) From a mobile (3 network with copious 'free' minutes).
TIA.

0845 numbers are inclusive of free minutes on O2, not sure about 0870 'cause I never tried.Life should not be taken seriously, as no one would get out alive0

as far as I am aware:
1) https://www.Dialaround.co.uk --> united kingdom [0845 rate] (land/wireless) 0844 462 68 68 (2p/min) best for peaktime.
2) https://www.18185.co.uk --> [0870 rate] 4p/min best for 0870 peaktime.
3) For off peak I tend to use BT as they are probably the cheapest.
Hope this helps. :beer:Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -
When 18185 get there 020 mobile access number up and running.You will be able to call using your inclusive ( 3 ) minutes.Peak 0870 4p a min, 0845 3p a min, plus 4p connection.Lower prices at other times.
I take it you do use the https://www.saynoto0870.com site to find alternative numbers when possible?PF.0 -
Alternatively, and only some companies list these, they may give a number for use if calling from overseas, i.e. 44 (0)207 etc, ditch the 44, stick the 0 back on the front of the area code and use that, you go through to the same line and if you have an all-inclusive call package you get it included0

You might be interested to know this does not always work.There is equipment now available that detects from the number calling you are ringing from the UK,and tells you to ring the NGN.PF.0 -
Yes I do. However it is not exhaustive, and sometimes I do not have either the time or the hardware to research it.pricefighter wrote:I take it you do use the www.saynoto0870.com site to find alternative numbers when possible?0 -
