Hi All,
Hope some resident experts can help me out here. For the last week or so the windows update icon has been appearing on my taskbar telling me updates are available. I have settings to automatic update. When I click on it, the normal box appears telling me updates are being installed and I can continue working.
However, the update won't install!! It's Microsoft. Net Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (KB110806)
It's getting a bit annoying now, as the updates icon appears every time I boot up the pc, yet install just doesn't happen.
Any ideas?
I use AVG, Spybot, SuperAntispyware and c.cleaner regularly and don't have any problems at the moment, other than the above.
Many thanks
Maisie

Thanks for the replies.
Albertross, I did try to uninstall but it wouldn't let me do that either saying something like it hadn't been installed properly and a patch was missing. Tried going into the Add/Remove prog and also the same on c.cleaner. This missing patch is probably the one they're trying to install
Also tried self help on microsoft site but don't want to mess about with settings etc that I may need for other programmes, so abandoned that.
Today so far, the windows update icon hasn't come back on :T but I'm due to go to work and no doubt it'll wait till I've gone out and sneak back on.The hardest years in life are those between 10 and 70:grouphug:0
