MacPherson Mystery Shopping

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but....
I have completed some mystery shopping jobs for this company and am still awaiting payment after nearly 4 months. There phone lines now seem to have been cut off and there are stories of them now being called either 24-7 or Mysterium, but when phoning 24-7 they deny any knowledge of them.
I have contacted the Huddersfield Examiner who are possibly interested in running a story on MacPherson, as I have found many negative reports of them in various places on the internet.
Would anyone be able to help me who has any experience of this company?
Did you every get paid?
I have had to resort to filing a small claim against them as I don't think I will ever receive payment via normal means - in 4 months I have received 1 email reply and 1 letter stating I would be paid shortly!
Please help me!!

It would appear from other sites that you don't touch this company at all. Non payment is there speciality

I've not heard of MacPherson before. I've done some bits for Gap Buster and Retail Eyes and had no problems. See this C4 article for some more info. I tried signing up with NOP but their books are full at the moment. Obviously once you're on them, people don't want to leave!

You can still register for NOP. I registered last month, even though they said they were full. I've had quite a few jobs from them since. Oh, according to that C4 article, sometimes you can end up with 10 jobs in one week. This week alone I'm doing 12. Most days in September are booked up for me. I do work for 9 different companies, though. I only started in July, too!

Gapbuster and Retail Eyes aren't great payers, but NOP, TBS and Optimum Contact are. I found that the better payers are those whose application process is longer/harder.

Might be a 'how long is a pice of string' type question.....but what kind of payment can you expect for doing this kind of thing?

The tax question looms in my mind when I mystery shop. How do you pay tax? Are you registered self employed to do it?
