  • Bt called back at this morning and they were unable to find what the fault is, so an engineer is coming out between 1 & 3.30pm today. Hooray. Fingers crossed this will help.

  • Bt man said there is nothing wrong with my line at all. He has put a cable straight from my main socket to the computer instead of using a filter. This didn't help though but he said it can only benefit the quality of the connection because my phone socket was a diy job and was full of electric wiring. So now its back in freenetnames hands, fingers crossed something will get sorted eventually.

I sound like a parrot but thanks again everyone for your advice and input, hopefully it will improve and I'll be sure to let you know if it does.

    Nice shades Martin!!

  • Tonight my husband and I bought a new computer, we set it all up, installed the voyager 105 modem driver, logged in with freenetname account details and hey presto I am getting a 1800+kbps connection. I have no idea what it is that is wrong with my old pc, but I will restore it before I pass it onto my inlaws and see if it makes any difference to my speeds. I am dreading telling freenetname, not because they have been rude or anything but I've had calls from the/a chief executive of the company and a guy called Steve has been calling me daily with updates from Bt and freenetname. I can't really fault them trying. So I'll call tomorrow or Monday and let them know what has happened.

I am so loving this new computer it is fan dabby dooooo. All our games actually work I can see me never getting to bed tonight. Take care all, have a good weekend, thanks again for help, I can't believe it was the computer. Argh!!!
