Curtains in rented?
Comments

We rented an unfurnished new build. It had carpets/ cooker fridge and freezer. There were no curtains and the main bedroom is in the loft space with velux windows. I got them to supply vertical blinds all round and velux blinds. I think the house had been void for at least 5 months so it was worth their while cos I would not have rented (1yr) without them.0

I have a similar dilemma as we are doing a house up to rent. I was wondering whether it was worth putting vertical blinds up at the bedroom windows. We have curtains for downatairs. Neutral colours. Then if they want curtains as well they can supply. The windows are very wide so can't put in verticals (venetians). Or whther just to put up poles from B & Q etc.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Dee, our rented house has blinds downstairs and I don't like them. They aren't homely at all. I would go with the curtain pole, it'll be less hassle for you to install too. You could even buy some cheap voile-type curtains and if the tenants want something thicker they can change them.
Whatever you do, don't buy lovely, expensive, quality, heavy, cream curtains which the tenant will have to dry clean when they move out at a cost of £54 for 3 pairs :eek:0 -
We are (touch wood!) close to exchange on our house sale and are going to rent for a while to see what the market does.
We went to view our first prospective rental house today. It was quite nice, unfurnished (which is what we wanted - don't want to have to put our furniture in storage) and we noticed it had carpets (seemed to be new ones downstairs) but no curtains or blinds at all. It is many years since we last rented so can you tell me, it this usual?
We can't live in a goldfish bowl, so obviously there have to be some, but seems a bit daft that we would have to provide them, since we may possibly only be there for 6-12 months, to buy curtains throughout would cost us, and then they probably wouldn't fit into another house. What usually happens?
Just buy some, just think of all the money you are saving by str'ing

Eeek, just my view but I can't stand vertical blinds in homes. Makes it feel like an office!
If you're renting the place out unfurnished, I'd say put up curtain poles and let tenants supply curtains if it's a choice between that or vertical blinds.0
