Turbo Gone - Ford Focus Turbo broke - Where can i get a replacement
Options
Hi,
Here's hoping someone can help me.
I have a Ford Focus 1.8TDi Zetec - Y - 2001.
My turbo went recently.
I am trying to get it replaced.
I understand a new one is circa £800, then fitting.
I am looking to go down the second hand route for circa £150 then fitting.
Can anyone recommend any websites or breakers yards to buy this from?
I am near J15 of the M6, should I need to collect.
I have already had a poor experience of one firm via Autotrader, who wanted a photo of my current turbo, but then sent me a turbo that did not fit - even though i had not sent the photos!!
Here's hoping someone can help.

Make sure that if you get one from a breakers yard, they offer at least a months guarantee. Personally I'd not buy a second hand turbo as it's likely to be not much better than what you're removing.
This place will recondition yours for as little as £100 depending on what's wrong with it or supply a reconditioned exchange unit:

If you're near M6 J15 then go to Car Transplants! Just a stones throw!
Failing that, register with partsgateway or findapart and let them do all the phoning around.0 -

I contacted Car Transplants 3 weeks ago and have still not received a reply.
Bit disappointing really as I had used them before and they were very good.

Spoke with Car Transplants and they don't have any at the moment.
Anyone else got any suggestions?
