Thanks for the great info and warm welcome, I'm still mulling things over a bit I guess.
I'm torn slightly in 2, but still veering towards TalkTalk for evening and weekend as this is when I make most of my calls and just want to avoid the possibilitiy of not getting through 18866/1899 during those peek times...
Which is a bit of priority for us really.
I'll continue giving it some thought..
Out of interest has anyone tried the "Free and discounted phone calls on your PC" idea? (as seen here: http://www.voipcheap.co.uk/en/index.html ) Not the best way to make a phone call, but if you happent to be sitting at your PC anyway....0 -

Steve, the number of people who have problems getting a call through with 18866/1899 are very, very few and I have to say tend to be when using it through the day. I have never had any problems putting a call through 18866 and I have used it for two years
Can I suggest you sign up for TalkTalk1, free w/end calls and then if you find you are making more calls in the evening or have problems with 18866/1899 you could then change the package over to TalkTalk2
Would be worthwhile keeping a note of how many calls you do actually make during the evenings?0 -
I endorse what 'Edinburghglass' says. We have never had problems getting through in the evenings with 18866 and we have also been with them for approx two years, saving a great deal of money.Jesus loves you:j Everybody else thinks you're an idiot:rolleyes:0

I use Onetel for free weekend calls and some mobiles (they are cheaper in the daytime for the networks we dial) and 18866 / 1899 for other calls. I have had absolutely no problem with lines being busy at all and the savings are superb. My line rental is with BT. I use the wonderful Orchid V4 dialler to route all my calls to the cheapest call provider - this gadget has earned back its purchase cost many times over.
Are Onetel still doing the £20 free calls credit for new subscribers?
