Arghhhh.... just posted a long reply and lost it somewhere in cyberspace! here we go again!
New Look have a new range of maternity wear, fairly inexpensive. There is a printable coupon for 20% off (vaild till 30apr) http://www.newlookoffers.co.uk/march20off/index.html. I just got a nice pair of linen pants were £16, down to £11 then paid £8.80 after 20% off coupon.
You can also shop on line http://www.newlook.co.uk/women/maternity/CategoryList.aspx and use a 20% code (not allowed to post it on here but if you cant find it pm me).
Dorothy Perkins also have 20% off floating around.
Never used a belly band, so I can't comment.
Bought some good bargains off ebay for both this pregnancy and my last pregnancy.
Also, a lot of the regular smock tops that are still in fashion should be suitable for the first while. I'm 33 weeks and am still wearing some 'normal' tops.0 -
Thanks all for your advice, it's helped me a lot! I don't think I will buy the belt as it has had a bit of a mixed response, but I will definately check out those belly band boob tube thingys and get a couple.
Thank you for telling me about the shops - I had not known about H&M maternity wear - there is one about 50 miles away so I will make a trip to see. I did not know that Red Herring or New Look did maternity wear either so I will call in and have a look there also.
Many thanks to you all. x0 -
Hi ya, if this is your first you may not get a big bump for a while (im almost 20 weeks and only just struggling with normal clothes). Ive brought cheap vest tops and t shirts from peacocks, and some combats and cropped tousers from new look. But ive got several floaty tops from last summer which im hoping will do for a while aswell as they are loose over the belly area.
Dont be tempted to go mad, as they wont get that much wear really if you think about it. What i would suggest though-is getting measured for bras when you notice your boobs have grown/changed shape as it gets very uncomfy squashing into too small bras when pregnant! Dont just expect the cup size to go up, but your band size too (ive gone up two band sizes and one cup size so far). My ribs have expanded-which shocked me!
