hi long story so sorry in advance.

i sold my house and moved feb 28th 2007, on the 27th of feb i sent my final readings (gas/electric) online with my new address, i moved months past no final bill, i forgot about it and now i have recieved a letter from npower saying they had to trace me and i owe them £800. i got on the phone to them straight away as i used to pay dd every month and there was no way the bill could be this high, anyway they said that i was being billed up to nov 2007 and said i would have to send proof that i had moved out, i sent my new council tax bill by fax so they could recalculate the bill.

one week later i have recieved a letter from a collection agency for the electric £447, i called npower and explained that i had sent the proof they wanted and have the print off from the fax machine to prove they recieved it, i also asked how they had my final reading for the electric but not for the gas and my new address when they were all sent together, no explinations.

what can i do they have asked me to send a fax again, do they have to provide me with an itamised bill, because i told them they wernt getting a penny until they did, am i within my rights to do this? i dont want to get called to court.

they are driving me mad now, i have sent three faxes with my council tax bill to prove that i had moved out of my old house and the bill was'nt mine, but apparently they have all been wrong fax numbers even after i have phoned the actual department! to confirm that the fax number was correct!

what the hell do i do? im thinking of just letting them take me to court, i have the print out from the fax to prove that i have done what they have asked me to, why are they so bloody incompetent

I'd forget about faxing that stuff, send it recorded delivery then they cant deny recieving it.

I think you should also send a copy of your completion statement from your solicitors and the name of the people who bought the house.
