Tumble drier not working

Hope someone can help! Our tumble drier drum has stopped going round. It is still heating up. My first thought is that a belt has broken. Does anyone know if this would be easy to fix and whether or not it is possible to do it yourself. I am reasonably handy with a screwdriver;) .

if you can hear the motor still running then its almost certainly just the belt. either its come off the pulleys or you need a new one.
    very simple job to replace.
    usually!

With the timer on, try hand starting the drum and closing the door quickly or defeating the door switch with a screwdriver (to simulate the door is closed when it's not) and turning the drum. If it keeps going then it's the capacitor that's gone. You can get these for a few pounds from Maplin.

We took the top off the drier today and it's definitely the belt that's snapped. Do you know of any websites that give step by step instructions to fix it yourself? We are wondering how you get the new belt to go right around the drum. It would help if we could figure out how to get to the motor/pulleys too. The drier is a hotpoint vtd00p. Do you remove the back, the front or the side?
