Any food recommendations around North, please?
Going to the Urdd Eisteddfod in Llandudno at Whitsun. We are staying for the week near Conwy - self catering but we like to eat out. We have located Wetherspoons in Llandudno. Any recommendations for food out - one day we are hoping to go to Anglesey so anywhere there or on the way. I prefer pubs with carparks. Also thinking one day of Colwyn Bay Zoo so really anywhere in the area. Must cater for kids and have properly cooked veg that aren't crunchy!! Thanks.

the ship on red wharf bay is spot on and a nice place to visit with kids parking around but can get buzy. Welsh mountain zoo will be great for the kids and a decent cafe inside (but fairly pricey)we went to a pub/diner in rhyl and i think i mentioned it here a few weeks back cannot remember it now though.
I am getting to like the Premire Inn restraunts Parc Brittiania just before you go over the Anglesea Brittiania Bridge --Table Table (new) in Caernarfon and a very new one in Ruddallan Not sure when whitsun is:rolleyes:sorry . Have a run into LLanrwst and there is a great pub/diner just over the bridge (another great pace for kids too . I think a very similar post happened on this last year because i seem to be repeating from memory all my welsh pubs (which can be vast) hic:beer:

It has been (coughing fit) since we last went on holidays to that area and when we went to Holywell a couple of years ago it had changed so much. Thank you ever so much I have made scribbled notes of the different eateries in particular. I hope we make it to Red Wharf Bay as we want to go to Anglesey one day at least (for 10 year old to see LlanfairPG) so knowing to prebook into the pub there is brilliant. Thank you for help."Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm Welsh" Cerys Matthews0

Hi Nosonddu - we live in Bangor but often travel to Llandudno Junction to the best chippie on the North Wales coast IMHO!! Its called Enochs and is on the top of the hill as you go through Junction. There's also a good Pizza Hut just over the Conwy bridge in the Cineworld area - go Mon - Fri for as much as you can eat buffet.Hope you have a great week. Hwyl.0

Thanks for that. We're praying for fine weather - a muddy maes is a pain!
Is there a decent pub for a meal between Conwy and Bangor? Even if it's off the main road - dim problem."Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm Welsh" Cerys Matthews0 -
I like Brittainia parc (just off the bangor/caenarfon turn off its attached to premire inn but the service is spot on and friendly and the belly pork or roast dinners are very good:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

thanks ever so much for this. We actually stayed at the Travel Inn and I'd completely forgotten about the Brewers Fayre and the kids love it"Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm Welsh" Cerys Matthews0 -

They used to be brilliant, I agree. So we went there and wouldn't again. Ordered cooked dinner and specifically asked for very soft veg - don't like this undercooked fad, sorry. When it came you couldn't even cut the baby carrots they were raw!! Not even al dente. If I want raw carrots I order a salad. We complained and they apologised as they reckoned the carrots were taking too long to cook!!!!!!!!!! Had some peas instead."Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm Welsh" Cerys Matthews0 -
here is one not been mentioned before
Try the Newborough Arms in Bontnewydd taken over last winter by nice owners and they are working hard to make a good pub
food is very nice and a good change bigger than average restraunt at rear with lots of parking (dont let the small front put you off )(wheelchair and pram friendly)south of caernarfon heading out to abersoch /porthmadog
I have no personal interest in this boozer:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0
