i'm looking to switch from southern electric.
using energyhelpline and low user for both gas and elec, npower comes out top at £482 estimated annual cost , with ebico £488, e-on £496 and scottish £497
as i am going to try and cut back and only use the heating sparingly and cut back on baths, i dont want a direct debit. i want to pay what i owe each month as i am hoping it wont be much.
ebico says same price whatever payment method so would it be better to go with them than npower?
any tips from those in the know much appreciated!
ive just noticed npower charges a higher rate for the first so and so kwh then a lower rate thereafter - i really dont like it when they do that - its like mobile tarriffs , means they get a minumum amount out of you before giving a good rate.

There is a discussion somewhere on this board, want2., about nPower fashioning the tier rates.
Ebico are ideal for low users, and it's
administration is done by Southern Electric, so you might think you are back where you started :-)0 -
) i'm applying for ebico looks nice and simple

If NPower claims to be able to save you £6 per year, I can almost guarantee that your will spend 10 times this much in phone calls and personal time chasing them up (just see some of the NPower posts on this board!)
MPI have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.
