MR16 Downlights - Being phased out?

Hi,
Can anybody tell me if M16 downlights are being phased out? I planned to install these in the kitchen, however I couldn't find any kits when I was there. Alternatively, can anybody recommend what downlight format is currently 'the best' to have?

I'd go for the GU10 down lights because then you can use low energy bulbs or you could fit downlights designed for conventional low energy bulbs.0
