how many years? try & link it to something related - for our first (paper) anniversary my dh spent hours making me a bunch of paper origami flowers - still have them 4 years on & appreciated them much more than an expensive gift. if u have kids try & pack them off for the night, unplug the phone & just enjoy each other's company. relaxing bath together, massage etc.
re the home made book of promises elona suggested - dh once made me some vouchers on the computer to be exchanged for things like massage, snogs etc. would have appreciated one that was for doing the washing up though!! (this post makes him look dead romantic - these are the only 2 things in 5 years of marriage, 8 years together!! just shows that free things stick in the mind more than just pending money on u though!!)
whatever u do enjoy it & Congratulations on your anniversary!Cleaning the house while children are growing is like shovelling snow when it's still snowing!0 -

Congratulations -What about pamper evening in with a bottle of wine.
You could have a foot massage from him then you could give him a head massge, etc. You could use all those xmas smellies that have been left in a cuboard somewhere and finish it off with a lovely candlelit bath for TWO!
Have Fun

I agree, a home cooked meal, with candles, soft lighting and music. As it's your 7th anniversary, how about 7 little gifts each? Either something homemade, or little promises. Maybe your other half could promise to do the washing up for a week or such like.Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0

How about a hand made card with a poem about what he means to you, all the things you love about him? Many congratulations on your anniversary.0

7 years = wool (or copper) Knit him a scarf?
If, like me you cannot knit then I'd go for Funky Gibbons IdeaSomehow I think my husband would prefer that than a scarf :rotfl:
Found this idea on another site for you - lol :
7th anniversary: Wool
For your wool wedding, you could snuggle up in new cashmere sweaters and watch Marilyn Monroe in the Seven Year Itch.
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
Was our 5th a few weeks ago.
What was more important was the kids were all away for the night, we had a nice bath, a bottle of wine a friend had bought and some dvd's fromt he home collection.
A nice time in on our own that was worth a lot!0 -
Thanks for all your suggestions! I let my husband look at them and you will never guess what he done!!!!
The day before our anniversary we had a lovely bath. He had made an appointment with his hairdresser for me to get my hair put up, it looks an awful lot better up. After hair app we had some us time for a change! He then took me out for a meal in a hotel and used the voucher his boss had given him for Christmas last year. :j It meant he had to pay 65p for the night out, true MSE style or what? :money: We went home watched some telly we both wanted to see and fell asleep in each others arms!!
Problem was next day we argued over stupid things, ooh well, I will remember the 7th wedding anniversary for the good night we had and for the arguing the day of the anniversary.0
