laminate flooring door strip

We have a laminate wood floor put down years ago. Rest of it is fine but the door strip laminate has come off.

How can I replace the laminate flooring door strip? I haven't done this before.

The dorr strip will be either screwed or clipped in. First make sure you can get the matching colour again before ripping it up.

All you need to do is pull the strip upwards and underneath the coloured strip is normally a metal track that is screwed into the floor. If this is still in good condition then I would probably leave it in as they can be a pain in the ar*e to replace. Then simply cut the new one to size and clip into the existing track.

Some fitters grip fix these door strips into place but all this means is a little more force is required when removing it!

Any problems just let me know.

ajtrader 100 is partially right but it depands on who installed it. The types he talks of are the DIY style. I install a lot of laminate floor professionally and use a trade type which is a 'H' section. If that has been used, you won't get it out with out taking the floor up as it is a one piece construction and part of it sits under the floor.
