Where does the 2nd bank of memory go?

Hi all

I am asking on behalf of someone who has an Eisystem 1303 laptop (from Comet) and was asked by them to get some memory to boosts its pathetic 512mb! I got 2 x 1gb Sodimm and managed to put one of them in the existing slot BUT where on earth does the 2nd strip go? There does not sem to be anywhere within that space to do so. The friend went back to Comet and was informed that there's a slot under the keyboard/pad for this but without a manual am at loss how to even contemplate such a slot there!

Does anyone have any idea where this 2nd memory go and if so, how does one get there? With no manual, is there a link to download the manual anywhere please?

Thanks

Jonah

  • They are usually under the keyboard is correct.

You'll need to look at the underside of the laptop. Usually there are hints as to which screws will release the keyboard (it just lifts up normally), sometimes the screws are marked with a K and other times there's a small symbol of a keyboard.

Do you mean the Eisystems 3103???

Its entirely possible that this laptop only has one slot for memory from the digging around ive done and the motherboard seems to maybe only support 1GB of ram anyway. Finding it hard to find good solid info on this so i could be wrong. The only way to be sure is to get that keyboard off (follow russ's advice on the removal) and check for a second slot but i wouldnt expect it.

Goto the Crucial memory site and get your computer scanned, it should tell you if it can take 2 sticks of memory.
