Mutualities?

I was impressed with the Liverpool Victoria Advisors description of these i.e. that the profits do not go to share holders, but are they a good place to invest your money? and if so what other mutual companies are available and have a good history of returns?

It's the basic business model of a building society. Profits get (partly) distributed to qualifying members instead of shareholders. It means that there's a slight added incentive to depositing your money with them, but they usually have rates lower than the equivalent bank accounts. However, at the moment there are some good BS ISAs and savings accounts, which you'll find if you check out the relevant best-buy charts.I am a Chartered Financial Planner
