It's just so annoying isn't it.It isn't the amount ofmoney that bugs me it's the fact that my family know i'm skint and in debt. My Mum is about to go off on a 2 week holiday with loads of spending money and she just got back from holiday 1 week ago!!! But she can't be bothered to give me the £30! I'm really cross with her.

She's been difficult about baby stuff too...When people give her things to pass on to me for the baby she tells me she's keeping it at her house for when we come to stay!!! Honestly, she lives 3 hours away from me and I don't drive...Not very likely i'll be spending huge amounts of time there is it???

Oh dear, bit of a rant sorry

£20 - which included a jacket for my holiday (cream and pretendy leather!), sports bra, slippers, and 'top up' groceries.

Not money that I necessarily had to spend, but thought worthwhile!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
  • The old family owing you money problem... my mum is terrible for it, I have to nag all the time. One of my OHs family members owes us a bit of money for some tickets we bought and he forgot to give us, fair enough it was only £9 and another recent one for £8 but its frustrating considering the £9 one we paid for months and months ago. Keep reminding OH to make sure he is aware he still hasn't paid us and he'll go 'meh its only £9' or whatever yet moans if my family members dont pay us money back straight away.
Sorry to go off topic Pap...

My OH is exactly the same - only he did it with a friend, and for £250!

I don't mind helping anyone in a real need if I can afford it, but I absolutely hate lending anything, esp money, because a lot of the time you don't get it back..... I spent £100 on a pushchair for DS's birthday, as three family members were going to split the cost of it, and 3 months later, only one has paid any money. I've given up hope on getting any more, and have learned from that lesson!
