    Dave: will do, thanks. :)
Math: nope, no gurgling noise. wouldn't know where to find a bleed valve anyway. :o
terrierlady: I have been told that B/Gas recommend this powerflush thing for every problem under the sun. Don't know how true that is, but it might be worth querying with someone else?

Not only is it true but its worse than that.
If you ask for a quote for a new boiler BG send you out a leaflet which states that "most manufacturers of boilers will invalidate their warrenty unless you have a powerflush"

This is absolute nonsense and in my view deliberately misleading. The major boiler manufacturers state clearly that flushing has to be adequate, they do not specifically require a powerflush.

I have sent said leaflet to trading standards for them to deal with. makes me mad gggrrrrrrrr.........

Just found a similar question over on the forum linked to above. Poster described it as a foghorn/diggerydoo type noise which I can identify with, lol.

Answers suggest it is down to an issue where the C02 levels are set incorrectly. Seems the installer perhaps should have used an analyser at time of installation? Mine certainly didn't. Think I'll need to get someone else out, think original installer wasn't all that great.

(I wont be asking BGas though ;))
