RE: No charges on statement sent

Options
I followed Martin's step by step guide on reclaiming bank charges, called Barclays & requested all my statement of account as far back as 6 years but surprise surprise cannot see any charges despite its obvious that I had over drawn agains either my authorised as well as unauthorised overdraft limit. I am sure they charged me 30 pounds everytime I overdrawn against my authorised overdraft limit, they even send me notification of exceeding limit.

Just wondering what to do now? Cannot see charges to claim back.

Thanks

Personally I kept all my bank statements safe over the past 6 years so did not need to request them and claimed my charges back sucessfully. Did you keep your bank statements? If so, go through them all highlighting the charges.

  • Please could anyone help?

All of my bank statements are online, i have printed them off back to january 2006 and they show all of the notified fees & charges.
But from december 2005 back there are no charges shown, even though i know myself that at that time i was really struggling with my overdraft and was regularly being charged large amounts over the whole year but none of them are shown.
Hsbc seem to be hiding the charges from over two years ago, is there anyway that i can find out what i was charged other than requesting a list of charges be sent by my bank - i dont really want to wait that long!
    Thanks

You may as well wait that long as at the moment the claims are on hold and the bank won't be refunding anything anyway. Ask the bank for the list of charges. However, I don't see how the bank could be hiding them on your online statements. Surely the running balance wouldn't tally correctly if the charges were 'missing'.
