Different Size Kitchen Sink Clips???

Options
Hi all,

Does anyone know if and where you can buy different size fixing clips for kitchen sinks into worktops please?

I am fitting one into my utility room, but some of the the clips supplied aren't long enough, due to the way it is fitted. All but 3 of them are fine and screw into the underside of the worktop perfectly but the front 3 clips have to screw into the support bar of the sink unit rather than the worktop and just don't quite reach.

It's just a basic metal sink and drainer, and the clips are the standard type (I think) with a black plastic part that push into the pre-drilled sink fixing holes and then there is a metal part with a screw in. The metal parts each have two 'teeth' which grip into the worktop/unit.

It's not that I need longer screws - it's that actual metal clips that need to be longer. When I try to pull them to make them longer they just come apart from the black plastic bit.

I have had a look in the DIY sheds and at Screwfix but to no avail.

Any ideas? :)

We just cut a notch out of the underside of our worktop so the clips would reach... Have you tried Howdens or a kitchen manufacturer?

We always do exactly what Adaze has just said. I am not aware of longer clips - it is a common problem.

woody and adaze are right - just notch back the top bar. I'm not convinced that there are longer ones.

Thanks guys - I have hacked the sink unit to bits and it more or less fits now - nearly smashed the whole unit up whilst hammer and saw wielding! :rotfl:

It would make much more sense to have different size ones though IMO to save massacring things - perhaps I should be on Dragons Den with my idea!!! :D
