    Firstly - fantastic. :T

Secondly - I know JUST what you mean when you ponder the possibilities of 'if' you had had your lbm before you did. Dh and I do the same - well me more than dh. If we had had our lbm 10 years ago rather than 3 we could have had £100,000 in the bank for our retirement. Using OS and self-control we have been able to save 60% of our income, and no, it isn't huge. We could have paid off our mortgage 3 years before we did - etc, etc, etc.

However, if we hadn't had our lightbulb moment we could still be paying the shortfall of the endowments on our mortgage and be looking at having to work beyond retirement age.

Thank goodness for this site for saving us thousands on money makeovers and for me especially the moneysaving old style forum as it has saved me £300 a month on housekeeping. Over three years that is £10,800 which I've saved up and have in the bank. Given that we hardly noticed the difference, it was well worth doing.

It means that not only will we have more income when we're retired - but - we can live on very little!

So, once again - many congrats, the future is full of promise. Just think what you can save up and do. :j
