Backpackers insurance with skydiving- do you know of any?

Options
Hi all, I've made a seperate thread, as my previous one asked about the Great Barrier Reef.

Now, I've had a wee search on some insurances- it seems that the post office, car insurance ones (norwich union) and supermarkets and the cheaper ones on the 'travel insurance thread' here don't either do backpackers, or don't include sky diving-which is a must!!! (one of my must dos before I die!!)

Am I right in thinking that you must get backpackers insurance if you do not have any accomodation previously booked before you travel? Incidently we do have a reservation for at least the 1st 3 nights that we are there, but cannot book it due to some Australian thing of not accepting credit cards until you get there. So where do we stand on this? Do we really need backpackers?

I would be really grateful if anyone could shine some light on this, or share their insurance stories, or who you found. Thank you!

  • Not sure if I can answer your question, but I've seen an insurance company call dogtag which may be able to cover your needs.

Unfortunately Dalbmeister and Sardlife, neither cover sky diving. As always ay? Shame I really liked the idea of dog tags holding the insurance info!

alanrowell, as you say it does cover it!! Yeeah! It does mean that I have to go with 'normal insurance', to get the cover. It claims that the backpaper insurance is the 'cheaper' option, as a choice, rather than if you have no accomadation booked.

I'm still confused on that one. STD is the top of my list at the mo, ohhhhhhh wait! You don't have to be a certain age to get this do you?
