Ok you are loved up enough to step onto the property market. Both jobs are pretty sound and it seems like a fab idea.
Then bang, one of you loses their job or (from a female perspective) you fall pregnant.
Can you really afford that house/flat on one salary?
Will your/or your partners CV withstand finding a new job within 2 months in the same area?
Could you split up?
Have you already got debts (seriously question your partners financial situation)?
Do you or your partner have to pay maintenance, or may have to shortly?
I know these are basics, but lots of people don't take these things into consideration. I have seen a couple of friends lose out recently and with hindsight, it could have been avoided.
Good luck.
