Keeping exterior brass door furniture looking good

We live in a coastal area so get salty air which seems to have eaten into the polished brass exterior door furniture. It wasn't cheap stuff but good quality but with living by the sea we did expect a lot more wear and tear on it so not grumbling about it.
We're putting the house on the market so want it looking good so have renewed it with the same quality stuff.
What I am wondering is if there is a way to keep it looking good for longer. Any particular polish to give it more protection?

All brass will eventually tarnish no matter which polish is used, if you want to keep it looking good for longer try applying Rustin's clear metal lacquer, it will last about 12 months after which you will have to strip the lacquer with paintstipper then clean the brass and reapply the lacquer.0

It's not just tarnish, it seems to have eaten away at the metal. But will suggest the lacquer to OH. Will the paintstripper not strip off the brass finish though? And is it just cleaned with something like Brasso after the paintstripper? Thanks.0 -
Paintstripper will not effect the brass finish and Brasso or any other metal polish will do,also after cleaning the brass use another of Rustin's products called Surface cleaner which will prepare the surface prior to applying the lacquer.0
