Skycard just reduced my limit

Hi people!

Just received a letter today from Sky who've just reduced my card limit from £4000 down to £800.

A massive reduction if you ask me. I have nearly maxed out my card before on a few occasions but I will have to jump ship soon because of this new low limit.

Maybe this is a credit crunch effect! Who issues Sky card?

I'm trying to gauge if it is like how they culled the limits on the Egg card.

Have you been over limit?... Anything happening with your credit file lately they could have found on a routine check? Missed a payment or two?

Has it been the trend recently for Barclays to reduce credit limit? I don't have their card. Capital One has just upped my limit last month.

Flawless history with the card. Have always paid balance in full.

Yes unfortunately agree with above poster, sounds like not making them money may be the reason.
I always wanted to be a procrastinator, never got round to it...
  • Mine was reduced from £1250 to £800 when I asked why they told me-My limit was reduced because I drew out £400 from the cash point over two days. I told them it was because my debit card would not work in the machine, but they said there was nothing they could do.I said fine, but I didnt really need a card company who reduced my limit without notice as I may find my card being rejected because my limit had been reduced, could you please close m account?I had a letter the next day saying it was a mistake and my new limit was £1250 again.
