Pain killers don't seem to reduce the pain I have at present. Tried Ibuprofen, Aspirin, and Anadin Extra (aspirin, paracetamol, caffeine) - not all at once obviously

Guess I can use the cocodamol I was prescribed for when it went funny last time.0 -

Tooth abscesses are horrible, and painful.

Is the side of your face swollen? When I was a young teen I had two abscesses on either side of my mouth and my face got very swollen. I looked like a chipmunk. I also had a throbbing pain in my jaw where the abscesses were and my jaw felt very warm to touch.
I had my abscesses for about four years before the affected teeth were extracted (it's a long story) and sometimes it felt like the abscesses would go a bit and then come back with a vengeance.
I'd really advise getting it sorted as soon as possible because, with all infections and illnesses, it could get worse and any discomfort or pain could worsen.

Sympathy to Op. I have had several tooth abcesses and they are excruciating. Infact if I am ever in pain now I compare it to a tooth abcess/childbirth and I decide its not so bad after all. Paramol is pretty good, but generally you either need root canal or extraction. Either way you need help soon. Hope you sort it out soon. (hug)Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
