You have taken the first steps to sorting things out - don't have any expectations of yourself until you have seen the GP, and use the time between now and then to recharge your batteries a bit.

Hi there - hope you are feeling a bit better today. I quit my job in December - and am still job hunting. It's tough as I didn't expect it to take this long. BUT on the whole I am happier, it's a matter of getting things into perspective. I know something will come up at some point. I just have to spend no money at the moment. I'm finding it quite liberating.

For example. I would usually spend 3 or 4 nights a week drunk and hungover, probably spending most of the weekend recovering in bed. Now I just can't afford it and I feel sooooooo much better. I used to shop to cheer myself up. Now all of that rubbish is being sold on ebay to meet my CCs each month.

It's not an ideal situation, but I'm glad I left a job I wasn't happy at. It does make you realise what's important, rather than just working to make money to spend on things you don't need.

I hope you do what's right for you and that soon things will look sunnier. xxx

  • Hi, I ended up hating my job, old boss horrible and anyway it was all going private(bad move, as now they don't really need anyone with any experience?!. How can that work?). Anyhoo eventually it took me three attempts to do it, I resigned. Even though we are on a really tight budget I'm a lot more relaxed and happier. Love spending time with the kids. Your husband is right let them get some other mug. Life's too short. Take care:)

  • Hi,

I too hate my job, my boss is best case scenario very driven or worst case wants to take over the world regardless of who he destroys.

I have been miserable, I had two weeks off and on my first day back I came home so angry and furious it was ridiculous.

I wrote my letter and applied for three more jobs.

essentially it turns out I am due a pay raise next year so I am going to stay, without this job I can't pay my debts off. I am fairly well paid and another school may not want to match my salary. although i would def take a lower paid job to escape this place, I won't do it for another 3 years, (debts paid despoit saved)

I think if you do stay you MUST have an end in sight, a plan, a reason so when you do feel cack you can stay its just another X Y what ever.,

How easy would it be to get another job or temp? If the answer to that is really easy get out of there, if not make a plan with an end, a cut off, a dead line so you know this isn't how the rest of your life will be.

    take care hon
