clearing CC Bal monthly by Direct Debit

have just realised after several years that Nat West (plus maybe others , I havn't checked yet) have a another way of paying for the Champers at the shareholders meetings. If you clear your credit card monthly by direct debit the balance is deducted from you normal account TEN yes TEN days before the balance due date. The excuse they give is that this is to help me not go over my Limit, that will be the one they put up every time I get near it.

Is this common amongst all the Robber Barons , are there Credit card companies that take it only within the Clearing house time.

I have an off set mortgage and usually have a £2k balance to clear each month, so taking the balance at least 5 days earlier than is needed has a large affect.

Anyone have a recommendations for better Credit Card companies

I wouldn't get too worked up. After all you've had their money free gratis for 50+ days.

If you have an offset mortgage, and you're spending that kind of money each month, shouldn't you be using 0% credit cards and keeping 98% of it in your offset for a year (or more)?
