    Hi ginjim,

assuming they are all using the same subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 then the IP can be anything between 192.168.11.2-192.168.11.254 (with the exception of .100 as it is used by one of the other access points).

This seems like a fairly technical thing for you to be trying to do if you dont understand the basics of IP addressing? No offence, just an observation.

    Hi ginjim,

there is a saying in the IT industry called RTFM (read the f**king manual) ;)

If you tell me what Buffalo model number the devices are I can look the manual up and give you a pointer but this is only one part of the process and you're likely to be reading the manual a lot to do what you are trying so might be worth you starting now ;)

    Hi ginjim,

having looked that up it seems to be a USB wireless network adapter rather than a wireless access point/router as I was expecting. Is this the case?

If so you wont be able to network all 3. Wireless ad-hoc networks are point-to-point (1-1) networks (unless you have a hardware which supports more but this is rare). The only way you could do it would be to have 4 adapters, with one computer having two in them.

Then you would have 1 - 2 & 2 - 3 and would have to bring the connections on computer 2.

    ginjim,

I've getting very few hits for the whr gp54 on google and the buffalo site itself doesnt recognise it (closest thing was the USB adapter I was referring to). Have you possibly made a typo in the model number? Without the manual I cant help you much more.

If it is an access point/router then yes you should be able to connect more than two. Are you trying to boost the difference range of the network or connect 3 different wireless networks for datasharing purposes?

P.S. I'm off home in 20mins so cant help past then

Page 14 of the manual tell you that when the switch is moved from AUTO to BRI, it changes the default IP address of the AirStation from 192.168.11.1 to 192.168.11.100, and DHCP, NAT, and the WAN port are disabled.

Page 28 tells you how to change the IP address e.g. change it to 192.168.11.200 for the last box in BRI mode.
