Hi guys
Just put in a new kitchen but the doors on the wall cabinets ether side of the extractor open to wide and hit the extractor, iv been looking at a way of stopping them opening to far but couldn't find anything suitable, then, i noticed that on our old horrible built in wardrobes (on the list to get replaced lol) have these , what is the technical name for them?

as you can see i took one off and fitted it to one of the kitchen cabinets, its works just the way i want it to but its brass lol, if i knew the technical name for them i could go on the hunt for some the same colour as the door hinges.
Cheers

why don't you just paint them the right colour! If you're getting rid of the wardrobes anyway. Plastikote do all the different silver/chrome colours etc. Call of Duty widow :rolleyes:0

You don't need a sliding stay. You only need a to change the hinges. It looks like you have 21 degree hinges which open very wide to allow access to the cupoboard. You can but 180 degree hinges which open the door only so that it is in line with the side panel of the cupboard. They are about £1.50 a set from screwfix.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

phill99 would that not be 90 or 110 degrees as ive not seen 90 hindges? as 180 would be open flat to the cupboard next to it and probably whats on there atm? I dont know the terms, I am only going on what I remember about degrees.0

Phil is correct, when a cupboard door is shut then it's at 90 degrees to the cupboard. So the 180 hinges would only allow it to open a further 90 degrees.

ahh I didnt think of it like that, I was thinking closed as 0 degrees as I guessed the hinges would be sold on degrees of door rotation when opening not degrees of the mecanism itself (as 90 of thoes would be pointless unless the door could go inside the cupboard). I see how open would be 180 if you measured the hinge itself, or took it from the cupboard side where the door opens from.
such a simple idea, door plus hinge and it still confused me lol, probably why I work with computers much more logical in their own crazy way

thanks guys
Just had a look at the quote we got for the kitchen and they are 125 degree hinges, i know it sounds easy to change the hinges but these ones have a special bit that you click the door dampeners to (not shown in the pic), there not just the feeble dampeners that you get from screwfix so i would rather stick with what i have.
if iv not said already its an Ikea kitchen.
Thanks for all the help guys
