Hi Folks
Have just reformatted the wifes laptop. She was using win 2000 pro but it got infected and we didn't have a copy of it. I have a win 98se disc and I thought I would stick that on. It does install but when it gets to the "Setting up Hardware " section it slows right down and takes an age to install. When it is installed the sysyem runs very slow and there is poor control of the mouse, with folders been very slow to open. The laptop is a dell latitude LS.
Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly received and might lead to one happy wife this Sunday.

I suspect it's not got the correct drivers for the hardware on the PC, you will probably need them for the video card, cd drive etc...you need to identify the spec of the machine and download the latest drivers as a first fix..Ex forum ambassador
