Advice needed - Renting and DMPs

I'm currently renting at a friends place but am going to have to move into my own place in the next few months. As buying is out of the question (what with my DMP and the credit crunch) I was wondering if anyone could let me know if there are any problems with renting whilst on a DMP, I'm worried that as I have a bad credit rating I won't pass the letting agents credit checks.

AFAIAA a DMP itself doesn't show up on your credit record but the fact that you got into diffciulty with paying debts obviously does. Have you checked out what Experien, Callcredit and Equifax have on your files? It will costs you a couple of quid to get a copy record from each.
Here's an example of what's looked at during a credit search for porperty rental: http://www.tenantverify.co.uk/comprehensive.htm
You may need to get yourself someone to act as a guarantor.0
