Time for an update, got in contact with the CAB who still havent heard back from the Abbey but were going to post all the companies a copy of my financial statement. Hopefully they will all accept and after that I dont know what happens.
Do they contact me or the CAB and what happens if they dont accept and am I on this plan forever or can I pay extra if I can afford it?????0 -

They should contact CAB, and any letters that you receive, especially from creditors who 'don't agree' with your payment proposals, you should pass on to your CAB adviser. They are trained to deal with it - and, as previously said, many creditors, especially banks and credit card companies, will try to gain preferential treatment, but they, usually and eventually, will accept what is on offer.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Hi all dont suppose anybody knows how the work the snowball calculator I must be doing something wrong or else im that deep in debt I wont have it paid off in the next 80 years
Dont think I can wait that long!!!!
Just by the by can you send away for a CCA from a mobile phone company???0 -
Jo
mobile phone contracts are not usually covered by the consumer creidt Act, so probably not.
With respect to the snowball, if you are doign a DMP, CAB will be hoping to negiotiate a cut or halt in interest on the accounts so your money pays off the prinicipal. It can take several months for that to be sorted out, so in the very short term, your debt may grow.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Thanks RAS do you think I should claim cc charges back now or should I leave it until the DMP has been set up??? Dont really want to rock the boat.0

Another update
Have come to the conclusion life is c*** I have just realised after hubby went self employed last february that earnings based on last year do not tie with this year and have probably been massively over paid by hmrc tax credits!!! Which means I now owe them in the regions of £12000. How to deal with I dont know but will have to be paid. Hope they are reasonable and will let me pay it off. The noose looks ever more appealing!! How did I get so far down and so low..
This has to be the worst day. Is it all worth it?????:mad:0 -
