Have you asked them for a new deal?
You always ask the present lender for a new deal and then compare to others out there.
Were you always on time with your mortgage payments? Other payments?
What is your income? And are you sure your credit record is too bad for a more mainstream lender?
we are with gmac and anyone who has ever been with them knows how awful they are,we rang them to say our fixed rate was ending and could we re-fix or change to another product.and the girl was really rude and said they do not offer existing customers any other deals and can only have their variable rate.because of bad credit in the past the rate is pretty high.we have not had any missed mortgage payments with them.we are trying to remortgage now with charcol but are having problems as house has gone down 10k,and we are short of about 1800-2000k.  knightmare!.0
