CCA - moral implications

Just before I went on my DMP with the 'this and that added' a 48K debt ended up a 56K debt. So how did/do they (banks, DCA's) earn this money and what justification can they come up with. Yes you signed to agree by the rules we set out so you owe it (business is busines). BUT for some apparent reason when we (Joe Public) use this rules it is classed as imoral and underhanded.
So edruskuk the answer is BUSINESS IS BUSINES it's not personal.June 2005 = 48K of Debt
Sept 2006 Started dmp = 56k of Debt (inc fees and charges) DFD April 2030:eek:
May 2008 = <5k of Debt (CCA route -48K, paid off 3K) DFD April 2010
Nov 2008 Lloyds found CCA for 14K loan:mad: New DFD Jan 2016
Happy so far tomorrows another day

kel123, I agree but I spent the money so I am committed to paying it back. I just don't want to go through the hassle of court action and the risk of losing my house in the process - I took out unsecured loans for that reason. I will give as good as I get as far as DCA's are concerned, but I am trying to pay back what I owe. If charges have been added then, yes, I do expect the creditor to be reasonable in that respect.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Very briefly, I just want to reasurre you, it's NOT that easy to lose your house, the DCA can / may apply for a charging order, that does NOT mean you will lose your house.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -
Hi, thanks - yep I am aware of that. Just can't be bothered with the hassle of it all. I don't particularly want CO's or threats of it. Work long hours and have family to look after so just don't have the time or strength to fight any court action at the moment.
Furthermore, my parents helped me purchase this house (many years ago) so most of the equity belongs to them so don't want my elderly parents to go through the stress either.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

It is my understanding that only the first charge on the property can reposess and after that the other charges have whats left.
The CCA route is not easy and takes alot of will power, stickability and and determination to follow through. I don't want this to sound as if i'm being holyer than though because i'm not that type of person but if your not prepared to push the last mile then this route is not for you. I see it as a game of chess or cluedo with both sides playing a game of misdirection to achieve their goal. If I asked the question Is scrabble of game of spelling words? My answer would be no! it's a game of using words to your best advantage. You have to have a game plan and stick to it untill the end realising all the posible outcomes.June 2005 = 48K of Debt

it has to be said that as others have said the DCA's have no morals so why should any of us. even if all asking for a CCA is give them a headache then why the hell not.
i know people personally who hev even proven without a doubt that the debt wasn't there's and there are more on here who have done the same...
it's a good way of buying time, and if these DCA get enough people doing it on a debt that they bought for 20p in the £ then they may just recinsider being such @r5e5 in the future.
(i know thats wishfulk thinking but we can all live in lala land...)

I wouldn't have gone down the CCA route but Barclaycard renaged on an agreement we had, sold on to a DCA and "hid" behind their terms & conditions - so I am now "hiding"/using the law to my advantage.
