Indemnity to cover property searches?

Hi
We're in the process our part-exchanging with George Wimpey. We had been hoping to complete on 2nd May, but it seems their legal department has been very slow to commission the necessary local authority searches and aren't in a position to exchange contracts yet.
I'm wondering whether it is possible for us to offer them some form of indemnity or agree to provide the costs of indemnity insurance for us to be able to complete on Friday 2nd? We have already booked our removals and really don't want to drag things into the following week. We only bought the house ourselves two years ago, so we are confident everything should be in order.
Solicitor is on hols today so I can't speak to him about it and it's driving me up the wall!
Cheers,
Barry.

That sort of thing is up to them, not you. I suspect that the answer would almost certainly be 'no' as there is no benefit to them of not waiting for search results.
If I were purchasing a house and using insurances to protect me against the outcome of the searches, it would be because I was getting such a great price that I was actually tripping over myself to buy it.
No developer would want to take on a part-ex that had issues that needed rectifying. Unfortunately, they won't take your word for it.
Your removal company should be happy to move you to the next week.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
