    And shes still living there! :mad: I would put her belongings up for sale on Ebay, not let her into the flat, and then give her a good kicking!. Oh and don't be such a doormat .. get the correct share of the extra money that you paid from all the flatmates, pronto. And don't, whatever you do. let her near the fridge, as she will steal/adulterate your grub, (think of all those Pot noodles going to waste) :rolleyes:

    As Terry says, some universities have very close relationships with landlords.

    Some have their own "letting agent" of landlords who comply to the university T&Cs... obviously if a student has not paid some of their rent, then if the university is informed, they often chose to get involved and make the student pay the money owed. They DO have the power to withhold a degree should they wish, if they think they have good reason.

  • She sounds like a right !!!!!!!!!!. I have been in your shoes but not as a student so I have to cough up hundreds for a girl who was draining others and not paying up-in the end-I was so glad to get rid of her, I never pursued her for the debt because she was a total b1tch! But I have learnt my lesson. I really think that she should cough up though because she sounds like a very nasty piece of work and she should justify why she expected YOU to pay and what makes her so special!

    take her property, up to the value of what she owes you. then give the landlord the rest of her property as assurance.

    no point fannying around in this sort of situation, get it sorted pronto and the silly little 'princess' who appears to get her way all the time , will be taking a step towards the real word.

    you sign a contract, you stick to it.

    stitching mates up for godness sake, where i come from , her knees would be under threat.

    print the small claim court form from the web, and leave it lying around, in the kitchen or loundge ...
  • well she has left me a cheque which covers part of her share of the bills, but seems to be refusing to pay the rent. As much as i would love to take her property and sell it, most of it is locked in her room and i dont have access.

    looks like i will be filling in a small claims form.
