Littlewoods personal finance problem

Hi,

I have a credit card with LPF that I have not used in over a year and should have zero balance, January this year I received a statement from them with transactions totaling £320 that I had not made or authorised. Turns out the transactions wre to online gambling sites.

I contacted LPF straight away and was told that the matter was to be passed on to their investigations team and I would get a letter in the post to fill in regarding the transactions so that the investigation could proceed. 3 months 6 telephone calls later I have still not received any letter. Each time I call the LPF line I am forwarded to person with poor English that then tells me due to a system error the letter has not been posted and they assure me that I will now receive the letter within 4-5 working days.

I have received my third statement from littlewoods since this matter bagan ( I was told that I have to make payments on the money I do not owe so as not to go into default which I have been doing) so there is obviously no problem in me receiving their mail.

I am starting to think that there is something dodgy going on within lpf themselves and the investigation is being blocked or something.

Does anyone know who I could take up this matter with as it is getting beyond a joke. This is a serious matter that I would like to resolve asap but it seems they are stalling.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Pete

Unlikely - they make enough money through legit means.

Have they put your card on stop? You need to put things in writing yourself.

Write a letter to them summarising the situation so far: confirm the dates of your first call to report the proble and the last time you used the card yourself; confirm that you have been told that the matter has been passed to their investigation team but you have had no communication from them; confirm that you are making the payments as requested and that you expect a full refund of these amounts with interest; ask them to acknowledge your letter or you will be forced to make a letter of complaint.

Are you supposed to be making the minimum payments to avoid the default marker being raised and they will credit back any interest charged? That's what I'd be doing.

Write the letter, give them 4 weeks to acknowledge then write a letter of complaint to the FSA to ask them to investigate the inactivity from LPF.
