Not sure were to put this , but here seems a good a place as any, please move me if i'm wrong.

Anyway thing is my 4 yr old is going through i'm scared of the dark thing at the mo, so not to upset her i'm leaving the bathroom light on cos it shines along the landing, am i doing right, i do want to leave a light on for her but the most cost affective way. the bathroom light is a 30W flouresant thingy, but am i best to leave a low energy landing light or perhaps a lamp on ?  hope that makes sense and any advice greatly received.
Thanks in advance  ;D

edited cos i don't know my amps from my Watts :-X :-[

Most stores now sell small "plug-in" things, the size of a normal plug and they give out a low light all night for next to nothing.

I don't like the plug in things - gives me thoughts that it ATTRACTS little eyes, to look in it's direction.

    Then little fingers, too.

    I'm sure I'm wrong, BUT.......

Thanks island man, i did try this at first , i had a little pink piggie lol, but it didn't give off that much light and i have to agree with vansboy, she did tend to pay too much attention to it, and was afraid she may mess with it at night :-/

Yeh, Sorry to worry you I thought you ment 30 watt. I was just being a smartass.

You will get over 30 hours for 1 unit of electricity.

30Amps is equivalent to four and a half bars on an electric fire. 30Watts is more like it, aprox 33hours for around 6p

Candles are unlikely to be cheaper. Mind you, you can often get bags of 100 nightlights for £2.99 from Wilkinsons, and each one burns for about six hours.

Although the electricity might be 6p-ish for 33 hours, the true money saver would take the cost and the life expectancy of the light bulb into consideration.

    :)
