Digital camera with night mode..

Hi all, I once had a sony camcorder with a night mode that showed the image like this, blueish




I managed to find this random image on the net, there arent any other like it

Night modes are different on digi cams these days but can somebody recommend a digi cam or camcorder with a night mode that will give me an image in those colours

My old Canon had a low light mode and a single white LED assisted night mode. MV880 I think. Probably well out of date but ebayable.

You could always use postproduction in iMovie to B&W the images to get the effect.

You'll always get a problem with washed out colours in night mode, because there simply isn't enough light to reflect the colours back into the lens.

Some cameras have a light as unrich says.

Technically you need a wide aperture and a low speed shutter to capture a night scene, but still then, with a flash, you'll not get colour as saturated as in daylight.

If you can shoot in RAW, then you can improve the image using raw post-processing tools. Else if the camera is less advanced take a high quality JPEG and work on it in Photoshop, you'll get some OK results.

The reason the above image is greenish is because the scene is being illuminated by infra-red, so it stands to reason you are generally only going to get a monochrome image back.
I can't see the example of what you want above but I suspect it comes from a light intensifier or is illuminated by a chromatic source as suggest above.
