Just a heads up if you've got this model. Lots of detail in title so if people with a similar problem search for the exact model thenthey'll hopefully find it easily.
Our 7 month old Bosch undercounter fridge packed up a couple of weeks ago. Light still on but it just stopped being cold.
Rang Co-op who arranged for an engineer to call a week later. I didn't think I could live without a fridge but apparently it is possible!
Engineer came. Sucked teeth. Poked about around fridge. Said it was a compressor fault.
"Oh" I replied. "Is that common?"
"No quite rare" he replied.
Engineer opens laptop. Types a bit. Rings his base. Types some more. Sucks his teeth a bit more.Rings his base again.
"You're going to need a new one" he says.
"Oh you're not just going to replace the compressor?" I asked.
"No - it was filled with the wrong mixture so it gets clogged up" said the engineer.
"Oh - OK" I replied.
A week later the replacement fridge comes. Nice delivery chap.
"What did the engineer say was wrong with your fridge?" he enquires.
"Compressor fault" I replied "Plus it was filled with the wrong mixture!"
Delivery chap laughs his head off.
"It's a design fault" he said. "Bosch have had to exchange 40,000 of this model!"
Great - well it was really nice of Bosch to have a recall or to write and let their customers know they will almost certainly experience a problem with their few months old fridge! NOT!!!
And the guarantee just carries on from the last one despite the fact that it is a totally new appliance although I gather that is standard.
Plus they leave you for so long without a fridge - 2 weeks! Shady.
So if you've got the same model and you bought it new around September of last year you might want to keep a close eye on it.

PS This is just a heads up and not something I personally want to discuss any further so don't be offended if I don't reply. Bit busy at the mo.
